Turn Your Lights On

It used to be that chandeliers were meant only for the dining room, but today, they can work in just about every room in your house. It is important when picking a chandelier to focus not only on style, but functionality as well. Will it provide the wattage you need? Is it to scale with your room? It is my experience that working with a lighting professional is the best way to go to ensure that you’re fixture will be size appropriate, and properly installed. Lighting is an incredibly important, and often overlooked component of furnishing a room. A great way to update your space is to remove that outdated fixture, and bring in a new chandelier. Here’s a few pictures of nautical chandelier inspiration:

Anchors Away!

Adding anchors to your home or wardrobe is a great way to add a touch of nautical, without going overboard. It seems like everywhere I go to shop this season, I see anchors! Here’s some of my favorite anchor pieces this season. All are available online by clicking on the picture. Enjoy!

Whimsical Table Settings

Yesterday, while browsing in Hildreth’s in Southampton, NY, I came across a very clever set of napkin rings, made by a company called Table Transformations based in Boca Raton, FL. These shiny chrome rings caught my eye right away, when I saw them set up on a table display in the store, and I knew I just had to have them.

The napkin rings come in a set of four rings with magnetic interchangeable, whimsical embellishments, which the company calls “whimsies.” From starfish, to anchors, to bumble bees, and even snowflakes, the possibilities are endless. Additional whimsies can be purchased in sets of four.

I couldn’t decide which whimsie I loved most, so I ended up leaving with three sets! These napkin rings look great with any color or printed napkin, and can be used for any event from a casual outdoor picnic, to a formal dinner party. I can’t wait to use mine at my next dinner party!
